Scorpion Executive Private Hire commenced operations in October 2004 and it was always the intention to target business and corporate clients. After using my ever loved Volksawgen Touaregs since 2006 it is now time to move on and what a move.
The Scorpion promise has always been to provide a unique travel experience which continued in style with the launch of the Corporate Division. The first Volkswagen Touareg 3 Litre V6 Tdi Altitude was purchased in September 2006 and offered the ultimate in passenger travel. In Shadow Blue Metallic with Grey Cricket leather the Touareg had a very high specification and was stunning, not only in appearance but also performance and passenger comfort.The Blue Touareg was superseded in 2008 by a much higher specification model in Galapagos Anthracite Metallic which was much more in keeping with the sector.
Now comes the next phase with the introduction of the new Volkswagen flagship, the 2012 Phaeton. After replacing the Touareg with a temporary Phaeton for the remainder of 2012 it will be replaced by a LWB version in early 2012 to provide total oppulence for all who travel in her. The LWB version at 120 mm longer in the rear has a specification specifically selected to suit my customer needs. Built in the incredible "transparent" factory in Dresden the Phaeton is manufactured on the same production line as the Bentley Continental and derivatives which puts a certain stamp on its quality.
The 2012 Phaeton is powered by the sophisticated, powerful and advanced Volkswagen 3.0 litre power unit coupled to a 6 speed automatic gearbox with tiptronic and sport modes. To compliment the spec it will come with optional 18 ins Experience alloy wheels which will be changed to a set of 19 ins wheels with winter tyres and support the 4Motion (4WD) system during our ever lengthy snowy periods. An electric glass sunroof, tinted double glazing, the most unique and sophisticated air conditioning system with innovative wooden blinds and even an analogue clock in this digital age, all convey the high specification of the Phaeton.
Bi-zenon headlights are now standard but also have dynamic corner lighting to direct headlights in the direction the vehicle is pointing, dynamic curve lighting give additional lights when turning, LED daytime running lights which are now compulsory all add to the total driving experience. Volkswagen even make a specific point of the boot hinges and I quote "Elegant and stylich in polished aluminium, each a small mechanical masterpiece in its own right, almost too good to be hidden away". All these items combined are indicative of the incredible attention to detail of the Volkswagen flagship.
The LWB Phaeton gives a huge amount of leg room in the rear with individual heating controls for both rear passengers from a unique central control panel making it a true 4Zone climate control system. Electric rear window blind, side window curtains, 3 seat belts, centre armrest, cup holders (2), fur rugs and jacket hangers fully compliment the oppulence for the rear passengers.
The car will ooze oppulence in Serpentine Grey metallic with Classic style Anthracite, sensitive leather, air conditioned front comfort seats with 18 way adjustment and massage, lumbar and bolster cushion functions. This means during cold weather the front seat heaters will warm the seats up and in hot weather the air conditioning will allow the seats to be cooled. To compliment the internal spec it will have an electric glass sun roof and curtains in the rear. For the first time Volkswagen have offered the upgrade to Google maps to replace the existing Sat/Nav root mapping which gives internet connection monitoring traffic problems on route....
....the oppulence goes on with memory settings for both front seats, internal and external mirrors and seat belts, rear view camera system, television reception, keyless entry, push button start, multi device interface for iPod, iPhone and iPad connection to the fantastic 18 speaker Phaeton infotainment system, power operated boot lid, tyre pressure monituring, fully integrated Bluetooth telephone system and side scan lane change assists saftey on the highways and byways.
